Who we are

Berriew Bowling Club was formed in 1982 and is located in the delightful village of Berriew in Montgomeryshire, Mid Wales.

Catering to the local and wider communities, we aim to promote the sport of lawn bowls to everybody and we offer everything needed for an enjoyable bowling and social experience. New members without bowls equipment are welcome to make use of our equipment while they are deciding what they need. All they need provide for themselves is a pair of flat soled shoes to wear on the green.

Many of our members represent the club in county competitions at both club and county level and some are international players for Wales.

However, many joined us with only basic skills or never having played the sport before. They are learning and developing at their own pace whilst getting the opportunity to play with, and against, players at all levels.

The summer of 2019 is particularly memorable because we hosted the Australian (Jackaroos) and the Wales national teams in an international tournament. Some of our members were part of the welsh team and other club members also got to play matches against the Australian team. An unforgettable experience!
